We are so excited for you to join the thousands of Managers who made the choice to prioritize their One on Ones.
The key factor to the success of WideAngle is having the team onboard as well. This is a template we created, feel free to make it your own!
I've decided to start meeting individually with you (and everyone else on the team) on a weekly basis. In the next few days you will start to see emails from WideAngle. It’s a 1:1/coaching platform that we are going to use. I think this is a great way for us to maintain good, open communication, and continue to build our relationship. The goal is to bring improved structure to our one-on-ones and help me improve my coaching of you.
Each week you will be prompted to complete an on-line “Brief” Two guidelines for you on the Briefs. Please get them done prior to your one-on-one. Day before is best, but day of is acceptable. It shouldn't take you more than 15 minutes.
Some of you may say, "gee, we talk all the time." And, you'd be right, but a lot of those conversations are very short. And, they're usually about something very specific, so we don't get to share more info or go into more detail. Our one-on-ones will allow us to do that. You may also be thinking, "what will we talk about?" From everything I've learned about them, we will EASILY fill up the time. After we get past the first meeting jitters ("am I in trouble because I'm at the bosses' cube/in the bosses' office?" (YOU'RE NOT!)), I suspect we will find plenty to talk about.
This isn’t busy work. It’s intended to provide even more structure and organization to our coaching, and will help to scale our operations as we grow.
